The primary goal which has already been stressed by Metel several times is to help users who have EDI reach full automation in application procedures and data handling. This type of automation allows Manufacturers, Distributors, and Sector specific Consortia to fully benefit from the advantages offered by EDI.
For Invoice and Credit Note documents in particular, given the complexity of data handled and the multiplicity of typologies of lines treated, the risk of syntax errors is higher than in other documents, forcing recipients to intervene manually, burdening the process, and increasing timing and costs.
To improve the Invoice document, we have made available an on-line check at the first level to verify the Quality of the exchanged data.

This new Metel WebEDI feature uploads a single Metel flatfile at a time (to facilitate identification in case of errors), and is subject to a control based primarily on document identification (invoice or credit note) and the different cases of lines considered in the examples for filling-in detail lines in the existing Metel documentation. The upload of the flatfile (see picture below) is allowed for a file of maximum 5 Mb and is accepted as a text file with any extension or as a .ZIP file.

For particular handling, not contemplated in the different cases of line details considered, require more in depth checks by Metel's technical assistance personnel will be required through Metel Ticketing. Metel's technical support staff is happy to assist its Metel WebEDI clients who use the invoice Quality Service for understanding possible errors, and when contacted should be provided with an attachment of the uploaded document and the text of the relevant email received.
